Player Character Name: Aidan Pryde
Rank: Vice Admiral, UN Spacy
Callsign: Black Adder
Gender: Male
Race: Full Human
Birthplace: Earth
Height: 5’9”
Weight: 180 lbs.
Eye Color: Green
Hair Color: Dark Gray
Handedness: Right
Age: 56
Physical Description:
Tall, well built Caucasian with a ramrod straight stance bred by years as a veteran of the UN Spacy, Pryde has a serious and harsh look in his otherwise handsome face, with serpentine eyes and a prominent sharp nose framed with a pencil thin mustache and goatee.

Relationships:
Family:
Peri Pryde-McCallister, 51, Sister, UN Spacy 3rd Science Fleet

Closest Ally/Friend

Basic Personality:
A professional soldier, Pryde commands the Macross-27 Colony Fleet with no-nonsense, quiet efficiency. He is sociable to a point, diplomatic to the civilians in his care, but not to tolerant of the media or Macross-27 City Government. He is, however, truly caring for the men and women under his command, and is fondly called with respect by the UN Spacy crew and officers of the Colony Fleet as "The Man".

Background Story:

Aidan Pryde was born in 1993, the son of cattle farmers in the New Zealand territories, which survived much of the devastation in the early parts of the Global Civil War. His parents were killed in the EBSIS assault on the capital city of Perth in 1998, having traveled there during the attack. Aidan was left with his younger sister Peri and a teen-aged cousin Rainer to fend off for themselves, and survived the chaos surrounding the Islands in their farm for several months until a relative who survived the Battle of Perth. Their uncle took them in as his own children.

A year later Aidan watched on television as the “Visitor” arrived on Earth and crashed on Macross Island in the North Pacific. He grew up following the news about the alien spacecraft, and by the time he was 14 he had entered the UN Spacy Academy as cadet pilot trainee for the new Variable Fighter Corps, flying the new transformable mecha designed from the Overtechnology salvaged from the Visitor, now dubbed the SDF-1.

When the Zentraedi attacked Macross Island during the SDF-1’s launch ceremony, Aidan was caught watching the event at the Academy in San Francisco. He finally graduated a year later as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Variable Fighter Corps, and was assigned to SVF-1017 Bloodhounds, a VF-1 Valkyrie Squadron assigned to Miramar Air Base in San Diego. When the Zentraedi Rain of Death fell on the Earth in 2010, Aidan was flying interdiction missions with the squadron, and took charge of the Bloodhound’s survivors and regroup with the SDF-1 at the future site of Macross City. Pryde was promoted to 1st Lieutenant, and made Executive Officer of the SVF-3 Vermillions, a squadron assigned to the SDF-1, when the Bloodhounds was disbanded and absorbed into other squadrons.

First Lieutenant Pryde flew combat missions in the Zentraedi Malcontent Uprisings of 2010-2011, gaining valuable experience as both a pilot and an officer in the process. He met the Zentraedi pilot 2nd Lieutenant Harek Carns, a former Battle Pod commander who transferred to the Variable Fighter Corps. The two became best friends and always served in the same squadron from that time on.

When the Space Colonization Fleets began their journeys in 2012, the Vermillions was assigned to accompany the SDF-2 Megaroad-01 Expedition as one of its fighter squadrons, together with the legendary SVF-1 Skull Squadron led by Colonel Hikaru Ichijoe, using the new VF-4 Lightning III. Aidan and Harek declined the mission and requested transfer to another squadron, and the two men were reassigned to the SVF-333 Triple Threat on the ARMD-10 Space Carrier. They both served the squadron for the next five years, with Aidan eventually taking command of the Triple Threat in 2017 as a newly promoted Major.

In 2021 Pryde was promoted to Major and became squadron commander of four more VF-4 Lightning III squadrons: SVF-302 Apaches, SVFA-27 Royal Maces, and SVF-31 Tomcatters. With the Royal Maces and the Tomcatters he participated in several operations against Anti-UN Rebels in the space frontier. In 2030, he was assigned as squadron commander of SVF-101 Marauders, the premier training squadron of the UN Spacy Variable Fighter Corps, and the first squadron to receive the VF-11 Thunderbolt, stationed at New Edwards AFB on the planet Eden. Aidan began his transition training to the Thunderbolt at that point, and two years later in 2032 he was assigned as squadron commander of SVF-25 “The Fist of the Fleet” flying off the Ark Royal-class Carrier UNS Uraga and in 2036 as a Lieutenant Colonel and the squadron commander of the SVF-11 “Red Rippers”, flying off the Ark Royal-class Carrier UNS Lexington, the flagship of the Fourth Galaxy Patrol Fleet. The Ripper were to be his last command as squadron commander.

Pryde was promoted to Colonel and assigned as CAG of the Lexington in 2040, commanding Carrier Air Wing 8 for the next three years during the UN Spacy’s new offensive against separatist Rebels of the outer colonies. In 2044 he was transferred to staff duty in the UN Spacy Headquarters J-3 Joint Operations Center, with the promotion to Commodore. A year later in 2045 Aidan was given of the Ark Royal-class Carrier Bunker Hill as part of the Fifth Galaxy Patrol Fleet, which was assigned to patrol the outer reaches of known space. The Fifth Fleet was assigned to support the Macross-7 Colony Fleet when it encountered and entered into a war against the Varauta, but rendezvous with the Colony Fleet when the war was over.

In 2052, Pryde was promoted to Rear Admiral and given command of the Fourth Galaxy Patrol Fleet, with the mission to search and intercept any other Varautan fleets in the coreward sector of the galaxy. He fought in 2053 the Battle of Etherian Six, which saw the destruction of the Varautan 12th Fleet, and the discovery of wreck of Megaroad-14 near the Varautan base in Etherian Six. The wreck revealed evidence that the crew of the Megaroad-14 Colony Fleet had discovered clues to the whereabouts of the legendary Megaroad-01, which disappeared somewhere near the galactic core. With this discovery, the UN Spacy Headquarters designed a plan to search for the Megaroad-01 as well as colonize the coreward sector, and the Macross-27 Colony Fleet was assigned to the mission. Aidan Pryde, now promoted as Vice Admiral, requested to volunteer as commander of the Macross-27 Colony Fleet, whose former CO was retiring, and now leads the Fleet into its long and dangerous mission.

Aidan is an excellent military officer and command, with a wide and versatile grasp of tactics and strategy in interstellar and mecha combat. He also has a knack for picking excellent officers and taking them under his wing as proteges - Major Aile Deparra Blanche, CO of the SVF-102 Diamondbacks of Battle-27, is a case in point. He is known to groom these officers into talented commanders, and maybe grooming a replacement for himself as Commanding Officer of the Macross-27 Colony Fleet.

While he is not part of the fleet's Variable Fighter Wings, Aidan is still an excellent Variable Fighter Pilot, and the most experienced in the Colony Fleet. He nominally can fly any Variable Fighter available in the Fleet's arsenal, and has a VF-11G Super Thunderbolt ready for him at a moments notice. But he has also stored on board the Battle-27 a pristine-conditioned VF-4 Lightning III, which he purchased from the UN Spacy upon his assumption of command of the Colony Fleet. Aidan still flies this fighter around the Fleet at times, and may use this for combat against enemies of the Fleet.

Eye Color: Green
Hair Color: Black
Handedness: Ambidextrous

Physical Description:
Petite, slim, well proportioned woman of the early thirties, with long and luscious black hair and mesmerizing beautiful green eyes

Relationships:
Family:
Major General Lance Hathaway, UNSAF - father

Closest Ally/Friend
Vice Admiral Aidan Pryde
Brigadier General Franklin Kurita, UNSAF

Basic Personality:
Veronica Hathaway is a complex person. Underneath her stunning good looks is a relaxed and easy going individual who has no time for flashy things to attract her attention. That’s why she didn’t have a regular personal life when she was young, as her attention was attuned to her studies. Boys tended to get intimidated by her, even though they all want to meet her.

Background Story:
Veronica Hathaway is the youngest child of a brood of nine – five boys and four girls. The five boys of Major General Lance Hathaway, UNSAF (Ret) are all members of the UN Spacy, while the three other girls are civilian wives of UNSAF officers. Veronica’s life is in the military, since she was young and came to age.

Veronica fell in love so many times before, but her rigid attitude towards duty makes her more or less unstable for long term relationships. The attention to duty and studies increased when she entered the UN Spacy Academy, where she majored in electrical engineering. She graduated and passed all board exams and became a certified engineer, but she continued on with her military career as a junior communications officer on board UNS Illustrious. She became a member of several command staffs, and became a hard working and efficient staff officer.

Veronica soon was assigned to the special EWACS project of the UNSAF. She was made head communications officer to Major Franklin Kurita, a military consultant for the project. She helped in the development of the Improved Battlefield Management System (IBMS) which is the core of the EWACS Sentry Mules. Lieutenant Hathaway was transferred with Major Kurita to the 726th Aerospace Control Squadron when the Major took command of the 726th, the first unit to deploy the IBMS-equipped ES-42 Sentry Mules. Veronica is excited at this first chance to go into frontline combat situations.

Hathaway served with the 726th Squadron during the 366th’ Aerospace Wing’s operations during the Varauta War, including Operation Angel’s Sword, where her Sentry Mule, Independence was shot down during the first wave assault of the 366th on Eden. Veronica, together with Major Kurita, was injured but Veronica was just slightly hurt, and was released from the hospital in just a few days. She took over temporary command of the 726th while Major Kurita convalesced in the hospital.

She was promoted to Captain and made Executive Officer of the 726th, and served with the Sentry Mules for the next three years. In 2051, Hathaway was transferred out of the 726th and assigned to the Fourth Galaxy Patrol Fleet, first as the Executive Officer of SVAW-116 Sun Kings EWACS Squadron, before she was promoted to Lieutenant Commander and joined the staff of then Rear Admiral Aidan Pryde, the new commander of the Fourth Fleet, in 2052. She continues to serve with Admiral Pryde, who has taken her under his wing as part of his command staff, and is still part of his staff when now Vice Admiral Pryde took command of the Macross-27 Colony Fleet in 2054.

Hathaway still serves as Senior Bridge Officer of the Macross-27 Command Battle Carrier, primarily as Senior Flight Operations Officer and chief advisor and aide of Vice Admiral Pryde. She handles all Flight Operations Coordination between Pryde and the CAG, and the Variable Fighter Squadrons of Macross-27’s Carrier Air Wing-127.

Melissa Ward, 33, Sister, agricultural scientist, Eden

A quiet, deep-thinking fellow, Michael is cool, and calm in combat. Intelligent, friendly, courteous. Good tactician and strategist. Has extreme patience, forged from experience with colorful associates (Walker, “Wipeout” Bartley etc.). Strict disciplinarian, but sincerely caring for the welfare of those under his command. People sometimes think of him as an aristocrat, and because of this was once called the "Red Baron" during the early years of his career.

Background Story:
Character Background:
Michael Adrian Luvon Ward is the eldest son of the late Ian Ward, a prominent businessman who was active in weapons development for the UN Spacy on Eden and Katrina Luvon-Ward, a elected official in Eden’s Planetary Council. His younger siblings are Melissa, 29 and Kenner. 22.

Michael's father worked closely in the development of the AVF series of variable fighters with Shinsei Industries, notably the VF-11 Thunderbolt, producing integral avionics components for the machines as a private contractor. Michael grew up around his father's factories, and has great engineering knowledge of Shinsei's production line variable fighters. Ian Ward’s company prospered, and he provided a significant fortune for his family’s lives. He expected Michael to head the family business when he comes to age, but Michael had other plans.

Michael was a brash and rebellious teen. Day and day out his family was receiving word of the trouble Michael was getting himself in high school. Ward was the leader of a gang of kids into racing, be it cars or propeller aircraft. It is through this group that Ward learned how to fly aircraft. A member of his group was Carlos Banks, a rough and rumble type of youth with Michael easily got along. Banks was the son of a business associate of Michael’s father and had growing personal interest to Michael’s sister, Melissa.

Michael’s rebelliousness was countered only by his relationship with his long time girlfriend, Mia Preston. Michael met Mia during the summer before they both entered high school. They were both visiting a medieval theme fair with their respective group of friends. Michael wanted to join a mock jousting contest (with rubber lances and horse-like contraptions on a rail system) but he couldn't compete without a lady to champion for. Michael, who was brash and cocky, approached Mia (who was at that time with another boy) and asked if she could be her "fair maiden". Mia turned scarlet, and told the young stranger that she couldn't because she was with someone else. Never to be perturbed, Michael confidently replied back "Then let me be your Lancelot!"

Mia was so impressed (though more embarrassed) that she gave Michael a blue scarf as her sign of support for Michael as her champion. Michael lost the joust, but gained the friendship of Mia, culminating in their more intimate relationship a year after. From the point on Michael always wore Mia's scarf whenever he competed in races, be it cars or airplanes. He also bought a pair or knight's spurs, which he wears with his flying boots. Mia’s influence calmed Michael’s restless youth, and Michael is very loyal to and in love with the young lady, whom he wants to marry someday.

Michael became an accomplished racing pilot with small jets. He was noted for his fair play in air racing, not resorting to rough flying tactics. Over the flight line he started using the moniker "Lancelot", and began dressing like some modern day knight (with his scarf and spurs). He for a time thought of quitting school and starting a commercial flying business with Banks and his friends with money he would borrow from his dad, but Mia's persuasiveness luckily changed his mind and kept him on the right track.

When he was 17, Michael’s mother was elected to her second term as a member of the Eden Planetary Council. Congresswoman Luvon-Ward’s connections helped the Ward family business immensely, but also made the family some enemies.

When the Banks family was involved in a corruption scandal, Congresswoman Ward was chosen to head the fact-finding group to investigate the Banks, and she informed her children of what was to happen. Michael warned Carlos of it, but instead Carlos turned angry and fled.

Carlos enacted revenge on the Ward family by engineering the kidnapping of Melissa Ward. When the Ward family received word of the crime and Carlos’ blackmail demand that the charges on his father be dropped, they were helpless. The Wards agreed, but Carlos broke the trust when he raped Melissa before releasing her.

Michael found out her sister’s ordeal and went to confront Carlos, who was about to flee Eden. A violent fight broke out between the two, culminating in Carlos stabbing Michael before he escaped. Michael spent a month recuperating in a hospital, being helped tended to by Mia, who had entered medical school at that point.

After recovering from his wounds and the traumatic experiences his family underwent, Michael vowed to put his life straight and grow more responsible for his actions. He decided to enter the UN Spacy Academy in Macross City, Earth and enter the military without any support from his parents or Mia, who were surprised by his decision.

As a cadet Michael Ward started to apply the quick thinking and action oriented skills he developed in his younger years and was learning the responsibilities of a military man and command skills for officers. After spending the first years of cadet life learning the military basic subjects, Michael Ward applied for variable fighter training as his major area of training in the Academy.

Michael Adrian Luvon Ward now is slowly learning that patience in an important virtue as an officer, but still has tendencies to be dragged along by his quick temper. He is still outgoing socially, but his style is tempered and mild mannered. He is analytical and quick thinking, easily adapting and overcoming crisis situations. He has a small streak of disregarding authority at time to time, brought by the independence he had before. His training has again tempered this, by a bit.

He has not, however, come to terms with the trauma of his family and the betrayal by his friend, Carlos. He will not talk about it except to Mia, and will not easily trust anyone else about it. He does not know what he will do if and ever he encounters Carlos again. That is the true reason why he entered military life, so that he would gain the discipline to face his fears and troubles with trust and courage.

Michael excelled in Variable Fighter Combat Flying, and developed to be a good cadet leader in the UN Spacy Academy. He graduated 3rd in his class, and inducted as a 2nd Lieutenant to the UN Spacy Air Force. Ward was sent to train in Advanced Variable Fighter Training Center at the New Edwards Air Force Base at home on Eden. His instructor at New Edwards was Chief Master Flight Sergeant Noah Beldezi, a senior combat training pilot who became the senior NCO of the 366th Aerospace Wing, who taught Lancelot the aggressive close-combat VF tactics Gunny was known for.

Michael married Mia three months after his graduation from the UN Spacy Academy. By that time, Mia was a practicing neurosurgeon intern with the New London General Hospital on Earth. They had two children, Byron and Leslie. The family first lived in New London most of time, traveling to Macross City when Michael was in town for a shore leave.

Second Lieutenant Ward was first assigned to the 32nd Fighter Squadron of the defunct 4th Fighter Wing, flying the VF-11 Thunderbolt, before transferring SVFA-1037 Bloodhounds Squadron, one of the first squadrons to fly the VF-19 Excalibur, flying off the UNS Ranger. He spent the first years of the Varauta conflict with the Bloodhounds, where his aggressive variable fighter tactics and his reputation to be an aristocrat earned him the monicker of "The Red Baron". He was given promotions of 1st Lieutenant and Captain, but requested transfer out of the Bloodhounds Squadron for the training at the Academy on Earth in the new VF/A-24 Raptor II JSVF-HM Advanced Variable Fighter.

(There was a rumor that Michael Ward sought transfer out of the Bloodhounds because of an affair with a fellow squadron pilot, a raven-haired Chinese woman, also from Eden. This was never verified, but it is said that the woman became the cause of Michael and Mia’s near divorce two years later.)

When Michael found out about the Varautan invasion of Eden, he quickly increased the intensity of his Raptor flight training. Together with 2nd Lt. William Bartley, he requested transfer to the 389th Squadron of the 366th “Gunfighters” Aerospace Wing, hoping that the 366th would be assigned to any operations concerning his occupied homeworld. Lt. Colonel Scott Morgan, the CO of the 366th AW and a former comrade-in-arms of Michael’s late uncle, Captain Patrick Ward of the SVF-42 Black Aces, accepted the young captain into the Gunfighters.

Captain Michael Ward’s service with the 366th is eventful and well documented. He was assigned as executive officer of the 389th “Screaming Talons” Fighter Squadron, a SEAD squadron flying the Raptors. He commanded the Screaming Talons’ Foxtrot Flight, the 389th’s unofficial troubleshooter flight. There was a controversy regarding rank in the 389th, since he and the commanding officer, Kelly “Rook” Thompson were both captains. Michael avoided these problems by keeping quiet and showing loyalty to his commander, but he knew that Rook was still uncomfortable with the situation.

The 389th left Earthspace and jumped out of the system with the rest of the 366th AW. The fold operation was going according as planned, until the Sky Mules of the 22nd ARS picked up a distress signal from the Red Light, a civilian freighter. The freighter was being attacked by pirates on board a obsolete ARDM carrier and flying VF-4s and VF-3000s. The 366th answered the Red Light’s SOS and engaged the pirates. The 389th was assigned to cover the 22nd Mules, as the 390th engaged the enemy fighters and the 391st and the 34th Bomber Squadron destroyed the ARDM. As a pirate ace in a VF-4 broke thru the 390th and headed for the Red Light, Michael broke from his formation and intercepted him. In a brief but savage dogfight, Michael succeeded in damaging the pirate’s fighter, which was in turn destroyed by fire from the Red Light. The remaining pirates surrendered to the 366th AW.

The 389th and the rest of the 366th Wing was sent to Eden’s moon to prepare a secret staging area for the UN Spacy’s assault on the planet below. The 389th was assigned to fly combat air patrol in orbit near the moon base with the 390th Fighter Squadron. Soon several Varauta warships, including a fleet carrier folded a few thousand kilometers off the moon. The entire 366th Wing was assigned to ambush the Varauta if they came close to the base. Ward maneuvered his Foxtrot Flight into a covering position several hundred kilometers forward of the rest of the wing. Disaster almost struck, as the VF-17’s of the 391st Fighter Squadron were detected as they tried to approach Eden. Using the EWACS Sentry Mules of the 726th Aerospace Control Squadron, the 389th and 390th successfully attacked the intercepting Varauta fighters and rescued the 391st. But the 366th were forced to retreat from Eden, abandoning the plans for its liberation for the moment.

Ultimate Coordinator's Macross Frontier Characters Empty
PostSubject: Re: Ultimate Coordinator's Macross Frontier Characters   Ultimate Coordinator's Macross Frontier Characters EmptyThu 29 May 2008, 8:52 pm

Upon returning to the Beginhill-15, the 366th learns that the City-15 module colony ship was forcibly separated from the Macross-15 Battle Fortress by Varauta infiltrators. These infiltrators then hijacked City-15 and folded it out. The Macross-15 couldn’t immediately send out interceptors as its flight deck was damaged in the sabotage attack. A distress signal was sent out and received by the 366th. Joining forces with the heavy cruiser UNS Idaho, the 366th was launched on a SAR mission.

The UN Spacy forces arrive at the sabotage scene. The Macross-15 vectored the force towards the fold point of C-15, and they traced and followed the fold route to a nearby system. Upon defold they located the City-15, but were ambushed by a squadron of modified QE-3000 Ghost drones, which quickly were dispatched by the 390th Fighter Squadron. The 389th were positioned to guard the starboard flank of the UNS Idaho, but were not involved in the drone fight.

The danger increased when a extremely large Varauta battlecruiser of unknown design folded near the City-15. Added to the threat was the arrival of the Hellbringer, the dropship of the mercenary Death Lords, in support of the Varauta. As the UNS Idaho launched missiles towards the Varauta battlecruiser, the Varauta destroyed the missile with a massive counter-volley, and a second volley of reflex cannons heavily damage the Idaho. With the UN Spacy cruiser crippled, the 366th and the Idaho’s fighter wings struggle to regroup. A massive electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack from the Varauta battlecruiser struck the majority of the UN Spacy fighters, transports and EWACS ships, damaging the majority of them. Only the 389th and 391st escaped unharmed.

As the Varauta battlecruiser and the Death Lords prepare their withdrawal from the scene, the Varauta launches two squadrons of Pantzerzorene heavy fighters to make a spoiling attack on the crippled Idaho. The 389th and 391st were vectored to intercept. Michael and his Foxtrot Flight led the charge of the 389th, as the squadron was deployed to envelop the Pantzerzorenes. The fight was short but furious. The Varauta and 389th losses were even at two fighters lost a piece. Ward scored one of the confirmed kills and assisted his wingman in killing the other.

The Varauta retreated, but as a final strike, the aliens maneuvered the City-15 into the path of a meteor shower, and then damaged the city module’s engines. As the EWACS could not provide sensor support, the 366th could not identify the inbounds. To Rook’s chagrin, Lancelot broke formation and vectored his Foxtrots towards the inbounds, which they identified as meteors. The surviving 366th fighters launched their remaining missiles to destroy the meteors, but they proved ineffective. The Red Light’s captains launch several RMS-1 nuclear missiles from their ship and destroyed the meteor shower, but several of the UNS Idaho’s and the 366th’s surviving fighters was destroyed in the explosions.

As the mop-up operations commenced, several fighters were also damaged. Two 389th fighters were left adrift and dead in space. Lancelot rescued one and supervised the other. The losses were staggering for the 366th. The 389th lost four Raptors and one pilot. The 390th lost all of their Excaliburs to EMP damage. The 391st have six damaged fighters. The 34th bomber squadron lost two bombers. The EWACS of the 726th had one of their EWACS ships damaged. The Sky Mules of the 22nd was the hardest hit, with three of six transports destroyed.

Michael Ward was involved in the infamous simulator ‘duels’ between pilots of the 366th. These duels where unsanctioned by the senior command staff of the Gunfighters, and happened under their noses. He fought and defeated 1st Lieutenant Leonard Walker of the 390th Wild Boars in the first one-on-one match, but lost to Walker in the 4-man team competition. There are rumors that a third duel happened between Ward and Walker during their VF-22 training on Earth, but no evidence points to it, except for two overheated simulator pods with burnt out electronic boards.

With notice of the excellent skills of both pilots and their growing disciplinary infractions, Ward and Walker was assigned by Colonel Morgan to participate in the VF-22 training program on Beginhill 5 in Earth orbit. (There are rumors that Major Jeffrey Langston and Chief Master Flight Sergeant Noah “Gunny” Beldezi were the ones suggested the transfer to Colonel Morgan, who reluctantly agreed.) They left the UNS Long Beach for the long fold for Earth

The night after their arrival, Michael met Mia at the Sotto Voce Café, with him knowing that they would have to settle the problem of their divorce. Mia received Michael very warmly that evening, but Michael misunderstood this and acted angrily. Mia was hurt and told Michael that she never really wanted a divorce, and was acting to save their marriage. Michael, full of guilt, asked Mia for forgiveness and told Mia that he would be a better husband and father to their children from that point on. The two reconciled and spent the evening in Mia’s apartment. Michael was hopeful that he could have some peace for the moment before leaving for the special training.

Things changed the next morning when a Varauta cruiser defolded in Earth orbit and raided the planet. Over a hundred Varauta fighters attacked Macross City and its airbase. Michael dashed from Mia’s place to the airbase to help with the defense. With most of Macross City AFB's variable fighters in a low state of readiness, the initial attack was devastating. Four squadrons of variable fighters were destroyed on the ground, with only a few able to launch, Walker’s with the first defenders. Michael’s Raptor was destroyed by Varauta missiles on the ground, but he commandeered a VF-19 Excalibur from the airbase when the fighter’s pilot was killed boarding the VF. Ward and Walker led the counter attack with a handful of Earth's defenders. Both men acquitted themselves in battle, using hard-earned battle experience and aggressive tactics, and succeeded in destroying six Varauta fighters between them. As more UN Spacy reinforcements began arriving, the raiders retreated. Michael and Leonard were both commended for their heroic actions.

The two pilots waited for a month for word on when they were to transfer to Beginhill-5. Ward spent the time with Mia, rekindling their romance and getting the chance to fly to Neo-London where their children, Byron and Leslie, were living with Mia’s parents. Michael felt rejuvenated with the month with his family, and was sad when he had to return to Macross City to prepare his Beginhill-5 stint.

When the two arrived on Beginhill 5, they were surprised to find Gunny there. The crusty old veteran told them that he volunteered to join the Sturmvogel training program, so as to complete training in ALL active variable fighter types, and as a preparation for a final assignment before he retires. “And to keep an eye for the Colonel on you two. Keep you out of trouble.” Gunny said with a smile.

Ultimate Coordinator's Macross Frontier Characters Empty
PostSubject: Re: Ultimate Coordinator's Macross Frontier Characters   Ultimate Coordinator's Macross Frontier Characters EmptyThu 29 May 2008, 8:53 pm

Michael Ward trained for six months, with Walker and Gunny on the Beginhill 5. The time the served together formed a grudging respect and friendship between the two, tempered with the occasional barroom brawl both were involved in. The three graduated with honors and were assigned to a new special operations squadron flying VF-22S Sturmvogels, the 69th “Werewolves” Fighter Squadron, serving with the Special Operations Command of the UN Spacy on Macross City AFB. Michael was chosen as CO of the squadron, while Walker became XO, and Gunny was the chief NCO. Michael was given a promotion to the rank of Major, and Walker became a Captain. The 69th was assigned on temporary duty with the 366th, to reinforce the Gunfighters for the final operations against the Varauta on Eden.

Michael invites Mia and the children to be with him when the squadron graduates from the Beginhill 5. The three arrive a week later, and spend the few days with Michael. The night before the ceremonies Mia reveals to Michael of her plans to settle with the children on the City-15, both to be closer to Michael and to work as a doctor with the C-15 General Hospital. Michael, surprised, initially was against the move but was swayed by Mia’s reasoning and reluctantly agreed.

In the ball after the ceremonies, Michael spent the evening with Mia, all the while accepting congratulations from officers and guests. He was pleasantly surprised to find that his sister Melissa was there too, with her beau, a lecturer on Beginhill 5. Melissa told Michael that she too was transferring to the City-15, to work with the colony’s city government. Again Michael was reluctant, but was only convinced when Mia volunteered to have Melissa stay with her and the kids and Melissa accepted the offer.

Major Ward spent a week with his family on Earth helping them prepare for their transfer to City-15. There he found out that the 366th was temporarily assigned to Macross-15, and happily told Mia about it. He decided that weekends he would stay with the family on City-15 as long as possible, and had Mia and Melissa look for a bigger apartment for all of them. Michael soon reported for duty to the 366th.

The 366th’s officers had a intelligence briefing about the Gunfighter’s participation in Operation Angelic Sword, the UN Spacy’s campaign for the liberation of Eden. The 366th was to be part of the first wave attack force, folding out from Britanniaspace with the main UN Spacy fleet with the Macross-15 and launching a alpha strike on the Varautan ships orbiting the planet, clearing the way for the transports of the 13th Marine Division to enter Eden’s atmosphere. After attacking and destroying as many of the Varautan ships and fighters, the 366th was to dive with transports heading for New Edwards AFB and provide fighter cover. After the ground troops have landed, the Gunfighters would help in the fight for the AFB.

But the 69th was to have a different mission. The Werewolves were to covertly fold into Eden and land on the planet with twelve other special forces squadrons one week before the arrival of the UN Spacy fleet. Each squadron was accompanied by two new Stealth Mule transports, upgraded Sky Mules with stealth capabilities similar to the VF-17, carrying munitions and supplies for the special forces units and resistance. They would covertly join up with resistance forces to help coordinate their attack with the UN Spacy liberation force. Michael and Werewolves solemnly accepted the assignment.

Eight days before the UN Spacy’s arrival on Eden, the Werewolves Squadron defolded under active stealth on the dark side of Eden’s second moon. Under radio silence the squadron formed up and headed stealthily towards Eden and its Tigris continent. They arrived in designated rendezvous point with the resistance fighters they would link up with, led by Colonel Rett Barber of the Eden Defense Forces. But Barber’s command was ambushed on the way by two squadrons of Varauta Elgerzorenes, and was in danger of being wiped out. Ward and the Werewolves arrived in time to save the resistance group, wiping out the entire two enemy squadrons.

The Werewolves and Barber’s irregulars joined up and prepared for the UN Spacy attack. They used the week preceeding the invasion to stealthily move their forces to their staging areas in the mountains near New Edwards AFB. There they met and joined up with more special forces squadrons and resistance units, forming a strong contingent of variable fighters and destroids, now designated X Force and under the command of Colonel Mark Allard, a UN Spacy special forces pilot who commanded the 1st Special Forces Squadron.

On the day of the UN Spacy invasion, the X Force began their operations near New Edwards. Their mission was to draw as many of the Varauta fighter forces based on New Edwards out of the vicinity of the AFB, to clear the way for other fighters, bombers, and dropships of the UN Spacy’s 13th Marine Division’s assault force to land near them. The variable fighters of resistance forces were the primary bait, flying at medium level while the AVFs of the special forces squadrons flew at high cover, diving to pounce on Varauta fighters engaging the resistance. Destroids of the irregulars provided anti-aircraft support and many Varauta fighters were shot down.

Half an hour late the 13th Marine Division’s first wave was entering Eden’s atmosphere after the main Varauta fleet was crippled and withdrawing from orbit. They were escorted by the fighters of the 366th, who succeeded in destroying two Varauta carriers with full fighter complements on-board. But a Varauta battleship, docked off Eden City bay, supported by Commander Ranaath’s and Commander Kern’s fighter wings moved over New Edwards to block the assault force’s path. Knowing that the success on the landing rested upon elimination of the Varauta ship, Colonel Allard ordered the X Force to engage the Varauta blocking force. As the two Varauta wings faced the special forces AVFs, elite pilots battled elite pilots.

The Werewolves led the charge, and broke thru the enemy defenses and attacked the battleship like a swarm of killer bees. Lancelot engaged Ranaath in a battloid battle on the deck of the battleship. The fight with Ranaath was the toughest in his life, with both pilots dodging and firing at each other in any way possible, but still no one gained the upperhand for a long time. Then Ranaath broke contact as the Varauta forces was sent fleeing, as the 366th’s fighters arrive to join the fray. The 390th cleared the way of Varauta fighters, while the 389th suppressed enemy anti-air defenses. VF-17s from the 391st and VAB-2s of the 34th rained missile after missile on the crippled battleship as it tried to escape Eden’s atmosphere, and the Varauta dreadnought exploded in a mighty blast over the AFB, showering the AFB with meteorite-sized fragments in a rain of metal.

The 13th Marine Division’s dropships landed fifty miles west of New Edwards and began deploying its infantry, tanks, destroids and variable fighters for combat. Varautan mecha and ground troops tried a counterattack on the landing zone, but fighters from the Marines, the fleet, the 366th and the X Force repelled the attack. Soon the entire 13th Division was forming up and beginning its attack towards New Edwards.

The Marines arrived on the New Edwards’ ground under a heavy barrage of defensive fire from the Varauta. The 366th and the X-Force joined the assault, their support failed to crack enemy resistance on the base. Fighting continued on for three weeks before the Marines forces broke thru to the field and the Varutans surrendered.

With the fall of the New Edwards base the majority of Varautan defenders on the planet surrendered. Several command officers of the Varautan, like Commander Morpheus, the planetary commander; Wing commanders Ranaath and Kern; and Incubus, who was responsible for the Spiritia enslavement of Eden, escaped. The invasion cost the UN Spacy more than 24,000 men dead or missing, and 30,000 injured. The UN Spacy lost 36 fleet ships and over 1,216 variable fighters, plus 1,500 or more ground mecha, tanks and vehicles. The Varautan lost 90,000 warriors, and 22,000 surrendered to the UN Spacy.

The UN Spacy discovered the scope of the horror of the Varauta occupation of Eden. Many of Eden’s cities and towns, were raised to the ground by planetary bombardment. The majority of Eden’s population were enslaved and made drones, continually drained of Spiritia in Spiritia farms. Public utilities like power, heating, and water were shut down. Agriculture was nonexistent, except in secret locations controlled by the resistance. Industrial zones were destroyed, except for industries related to the military, which were taken over by the Varautan and manned by human slaves.

Of the 25,000,000 population of Pre-Occupation Eden, 1,000,000 were killed in the initial Varautan attack, and 18,000,000 were enslaved. Of that number 7,000,000 slaves were transferred to the Varautan homeworlds, while 2,000,000 died on Eden in captivity. Another 3,000,000 died of hunger and deprivation in the two-year occupation. Of the 500,000-strong resistance forces which fought the Varautan, 200,000 were killed. The Post-Occupation population was down to 6,000,000 survivors.

The UN Spacy began their reconstruction and recovery efforts for Eden. Fleets of transports ships carrying food, medicine, other basic necessities and construction equipment began arriving in Eden to disembark their cargoes. The same ships loaded refugees who wished to leave the planet for safer worlds, and those sick and injured who could be treated on worlds with better medical facilities.

The Werewolves spent a year helping out in the Reconstruction. They acted in search and rescue operations, medical missions and the care of survivors, construction, police duties, and hunter mission against Varautan stragglers. The Werewolves took a lot of these hunter missions, as is the nature of special forces squadrons. In between missions the Werewolves spent the most of their time tending to the survivors who were billeted in medical camps near cities. With the entire population being survivors and refugees, it was a near impossible and frustrating task. But with the help of the City-15’s citizens and medical professionals, led by Mia and other doctors, the 69th’s efforts slowly bore fruit.

Major Ward learned of the fate of his father. Ian Ward was killed by the Varauta months into the occupation, when the Resistance band he was with was ambushed in the mountains north of Eden City. Michael used his spare time to care for his mother, whom they rescued from drone slavery. Saddened by the death of her husband, Katherine Ward spent the time after healing to help others in need. Being a member of the Planetary Council of Eden before the invasion, Congresswoman Ward took up leadership of other reconstruction efforts, concentrating in the education and care of the orphaned children. She also joined the Provisional Council in charge of administering the planet with the UN Spacy command.

Michael was approached by officials and employees from his father’s company and was asked to take over the business and get it up and running. Michael declined, and asked his sister Melissa administer the work. He told Melissa to use the business’s facilities, which survived the occupation and was used by the Varutans for weapons production, to start an agriculture and food production company to help with the food needs of the survivors, without receiving profits until the reconstruction is complete. Melissa agreed, but asked Michael to come and take her place as soon as he retires from the military.

The 69th “Werewolves” Fighter Squadron was reassigned to the new 347th Aerospace Wing, assigned to permanent duty with the Eden Defense Force, a year after the Liberation. Captain Leonard Walker was reassigned as a CO of a training squadron in the New Pensacola VF Training Center, while Gunny Beldezi retired. Gunny worked for the Melissa Ward’s New Eden Agriculture Development Corporation for the next two years, then settled down on the New Ares Colony on Mars. Michael was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel at this point in his career, and was heralded as one of the best Squadron Commanders in the UN Spacy, and was thought to be in line to promotion to Wing Commander or Commander Air Group in the near future.

During the Sacred Earth crisis, the 69th were active in the borders of the conflict, intercepting from Eden transports and fighters inbound to reinforce rebel forces on Earth. Michael wished he could have served with the General Morgan and his friends in the 366th in its battles on Earth, but the Werewolves were commanded to defend Eden instead, what with the depleted UN Spacy forces and the still viable threat from the Varauta. Lancelot is contemplating on retiring soon, to help Melissa on Eden, but he is also thinking of joining General Morgan’s Special Operations Command of the Earth Defense Forces for a last tour of duty.

Michael’s family still lives in Eden, in a new house in the old Ward estate, where he could be close to her mother and sister. Mia, now turning 34, started working at the Eden Hope General Hospital as a senior neurosurgeon, specializing in laser surgery of the brain. She is also active in the charitable works of her mother-in-law. Byron, 12, is growing up looking a lot like his father, and a skilled soccer player. Leslie, at 9 years old, loves to draw and color, sending her “art” to Michael, who posts them on the refrigerator in the 69th Fighter Squadron ready room.

Disaster struck early in 2053 when the remnants of the Sacred Earth group staged a final, desperate assault against the UN Spacy Government, assaulting the Eden Hope General Hospital and taking everyone inside as hostage. Michael’s squadron was assigned to a reserve role in the hostage crisis, but was not used due to his personal relationship with Mia, who was now a hostage. The UN Spacy tried to rescue the hostages, but the terrorist blew up the hospital, killing most of the hostages, including Mia.

In grief over his wife’s death, Michael decided to leave Eden and join the Macross-27 Colony Fleet. General Morgan promoted him to full Colonel and had Michael assigned to lead the SVFS-7 “Rogues” Special Operations Squadron, under direct command of UN Spacy Headquarters on Earth. Michael hardened himself as he left his children in the care of Melissa, and left behind Eden permanently for the unknown galaxy.

Player Character Name: William Tyler Bartley
Rank: Captain, UNSAF
Callsign: Wipeout
Gender: Male
Race: Full Human
Birthplace: San Diego, CA, Earth
Height: 5’7”
Weight: lbs: 145 lbs
Eye Color: Gray
Hair Color: Blonde
Handedness: Right
Age: 29

Closest Ally/Friend
Colonel Michael Adrian Luvon Ward, UNSAF - Commanding Officer, SVFS-7 "Rogue" Squadron
Major Scott Hinomura Connor, UNSAF - Commanding Officer, SVFT-101 "Marauders" Squadron, Beginhill-27
Sergeant Major (Ret) Noah Ishambo "Gunny" Beldezi, UNSAF - former chief NCO, 69th "Werewolves" Fighter Squadron

Basic Personality:
Wipeout is pure fun! He can make anything so enjoyable it's sometimes annoying (yeah ask Lancelot about that!). Intelligent, charming, and a rascal, he attracts women with his surfer boy looks! A happy-go-lucky individual without a care in the world, William is a naive fellow who’s into flying for the fun of it. Wipeout has begun his career full of confidence and some hidden doubts, and grew up to become a responsible pilot and wingman, if still a little on the reckless side. Although inexperienced in combat situations, Will is easy learning and very adaptive to situations. He is extremely loyal to Colonel Michael Ward, who he has served as a wingman all throughout his young career.

Background Story:
William "Wipeout" Bartley was a nature loving kid. Born in sunny beaches of California, Will was a infamous surfboard enthusiast. A beach boy known for his good looks and charms which knock the local girl off their feet, Wipeout was a regular cool dude. But this cool dude was also a certified scholar in the technological sciences. He entered the UN Spacy Academy in hopes to become an engineer.

Will grew to love flying while in training. He was especially attracted to the new VF/A-24 Raptor II Light AVF. He therefore forgot of his engineering pursuits to train to qualify for VF/A-24 flight status. He succeeded and recently graduated from the Academy as a Variable Fighter Pilot.

Wipeout was assigned to a crash training and readiness program for would be Raptor pilots in the UN Spacy Air Force Base in Macross City. There he meets and is assigned as a potential wingman for Captain Michael Ward. He and Ward completed the program and are now assigned to the 389th Squadron of the 366th Aerospace Wing, William's first combat squadron assignment.

He served with the 389th for several years, before joining Ward again as a pilot of the 69th Werewolves Squadron after taking special training flying the new VF-22S Sturmvogel II special forces advanced variable fighter, fighting in the battles of Eden’s Liberation. He was transferred to the SVFA-86 Sidewinders for a few years, but after the death of Ward’s wife in that hostage situation on Eden, Wipeout rejoined Lancelot in Lancelot’s new command, the SVFS-7 Rogue Squadron, flying as his wingman again.

Before going on the Macross-27 Colony Fleet with the rest of the Rogues, William completed his PHD in Engineering from one of Macross City's leading universities, as a full scholar subsidized by the UN Spacy Command.

Basic Personality:
A quiet, introverted individual, Phelan is a low-key type of person, not wanting the face the limelight, comfortable to work in the shadows. But to persons he has come to trust, he is very friendly and reliable. His is a responsible officer, working efficiency in whatever assignments he is given. He has this knack of getting involved romantically with a lot of women, even though he himself is not a player and quite shy at first with women.

Background Story:
Phelan Patrick Ward Kell is the eldest son of two career variable fighter pilots in the UN Spacy. Colonel Morgan Kell commanded several squadrons during campaigns against Anti-Unification rebels a decade prior to the Varauta War. He now commands the 312th Variable Fighter Wing of the Eden Defense Force. Major Salome Ward served as Colonel Kell’s executive officer in the SVF-42 Black Aces squadron, a VF-4 squadron which served on the UNS Lexington and from Eden's New Edwards AFB. The two officers settled in Eden (Salome’s homeworld) when they were given permanent assignments with the planet’s defense forces. Phelan was born two years after their marriage.

Phelan was a troubled youth, and became a source of woe for his career military parents, specially his father. Phelan was brash, reckless and irresponsible as a young teen. He liked to hang out with the rough crowd, and dabbled with drugs and drinking binges as an uncontrolled youth. He easily contradicted every value his parents tried to instill to him.

But there were things in which Phelan excelled at even in his wild days. He was very interested in mechanics, and was proficient in building or reconditioning engines, be it automobiles or aircraft. He had the skills to become a good engineer, able to interpret, analyze and develop solutions to engineering problems in high school.

Kell also was introduced, and subsequently fell in love with, flying. His uncle, Ian Ward and his cousin Michael was the owner of several private aircraft, and the cousins eagerly learned how to pilot them from Ian. While Michael became more enamored with racing aircraft, Phelan was more into the joys of traveling to places while flying. He soon went on solo trips to the far corners of Eden in a small private jet Ian Ward owned.

Phelan was also a gifted athlete. He liked running and general athletics, and was a champion decathlon competitor, winning in the state finals twice. He took up gymnastics in his sophomore year in high school, and was proficient in the pommel horse, but failed to make the cut in the varsity. He also took up wilderness sports, mountaineering and trekking. He played point guard in his high school varsity basketball team, led the team in assists, and still plays well today. He also has a black belt in karate and taekwondo. He never became a racing pilot like Michael, but worked as an engineer in the racing team’s tech crew.

When Phelan was 16, his father Colonel Kell wanted him to shape up and enter college in the UN Spacy Academy, but the rebellious son tried all his best to scuttle that plan. A series of disastrous events almost led to Phelan being imprisoned for a long time, culminating in a attempt while under the influence of alcohol to hijack a small private aircraft and taking it in a joyride, to the horror of its frightened passengers. Phelan was apprehended before the plane took off, and was taken into custody by the police.

Phelan was to indicted for his crimes when his aunt, Congresswoman Katrina Ward intervened for his behalf. He was put into the custody of the Congresswoman, who instructed Phelan that he would enter the Academy on Earth whether he liked it or not. Katrina already had Phelan’s criminal records destroyed, so Phelan was in her debt and could not refuse. Colonel Kell thanked Katrina for what she had done, but he did not forgive Phelan. He told Phelan not to return to the family unless he has proven himself to be a man responsible for himself. Phelan left for the Academy without saying goodbye to his parents or sister, Caitlin.

During his first months in the UN Spacy Academy, Phelan was not doing well. It seemed his rebellious nature went with him to his cadet training. He committed several acts of breach of discipline so that the Academy teachers were contemplating of having him expelled. But Master Sergeant “Gunny” Beldezi, one of Phelan’s instructors, took the young man under his wing and tried all that he knew to get Phelan straightened out. Gunny assigned two other more promising cadets, Edward Wallace and Patricia Lopez, to tutor Phelan and help him out.

At first Phelan did not respond well to Gunny, Edward and Patricia, but tenacity and stubbornness of the three, most notably Patricia, won Phelan to their cause. Soon Phelan was improving in his studies and training. He also developed a bond of friendship with the trio, and his relationship with Patricia blossomed into a romance. Patricia and Phelan plan to marry as soon as they could save enough for life together as husband and wife.

In the next few years in the Academy Phelan and Edward gained enough high grades and credits to qualify for variable fighter pilot training. Patricia, who took up and graduated law before entering the Academy, works in the Judge Advocate General’s office of the UN Spacy Command. Gunny continues on as a VF training instructor in the Academy.

After graduating from the Academy, Phelan was assigned to the SVF-33 Starfighters, a VF-11 Squadron attached to the Battle-15 in the Macross-15 Colony Fleet. Upon joining the squadron, Phelan meets Isabel Davis, a fellow Edenite and transferee to the Starfighters from her posting in the UN Spacy Marines. Phelan and Isabel strike a fast friendship, and soon romance bloomed between them. Phelan becomes a valuable member of the Starfighters, eventually leading one of the squadron’s flights in actions against Anti-UN Rebels around Zola.

Two years later Phelan and the rest of the Starfighters were vacationing on Riviera-15 when he got involved in a assassination attempt with the young royal from Britannia, Lady Magdalena Da Vinci-Windsor, who was targeted by Anti-UN Rebels and xenophobic separatists. Phelan had first met Magdalena at the Hilton Hotel, and was dragged by the young royal on whim to escape her guards, minutes after the Hotel coffee shop they were in blew up in a bomb blast. Phelan was suspected of kidnapping the royal, but in truth Phelan protected Magdalena as assassins chased them across the resort ship.

It was only thru the intervention of his fellow Starfighters that the two escaped safely, but Phelan was forced to accept reassignment to another squadron after the Britannia authorities pressured the UN Spacy Command to do so. At this point, Phelan also broke up with Isabel as he left for his new posting with the 19th Fighter Group on Eden, but the young royal Magdalena did not forget him and what he did for her. It is rumored that the young royal is secretly supporting Phelan thru her influence in the Britannia government, and there are stories that the two had met romantically several times during clandestine meetings.

Phelan was promoted to First Lieutenant and next assigned to the SVFA-14 Tophatters, starting as a VF-11 Thunderbolt pilot, before the squadron transitioned to the new VF-19A Excalibur. It is during his four years with the Tophatters that the Varauta invaded Eden, and the Tophatters were almost destroyed – the survivors of the squadron becoming part of the Eden Resistance. He came under the command of Akira Brahe, a former member of Morgan Kell’s SVF-1019, better known as the “Kell Hounds” Squadron. Using the vast Resistance network, Phelan maintained covert contact with his relatives, and learns that most of his family, including his father, mother and sister, had escaped the planet during the initial wave of Varauta attacks.

A year into the Varautan Occupation of Eden, Phelan accidentally stumbles unto Patricia, who was caught visiting the planet during the Invasion. Patricia was now working with the Resistance, and the two caught up on old times as Brahe’s Battalion was assigned to the sector Patricia’s group was operating. Phelan had again rekindled his relationship with Patricia, and was about to ask her to marry him when the Varauta attacked their base, and Patricia was killed by a Varautan missile. In grief, Phelan vowed to avenge her death.

Ultimate Coordinator's Macross Frontier Characters PhelanKellMFEden
Phelan with Patricia Lopez in the Eden Resistance, Eden circa 2047 AD.

Phelan's chance came as the UN Spacy returned to liberate the planet. He fought with Brahe’s Battalion with the X Force, where he met his cousin Michael again briefly, and linked up with the 366th Aerospace Wing and the 13th Marine Division, where Isabel was currently serving with. When Eden was liberated, Phelan was promoted to Captain, but the battle weary pilot resigned his commission and left the planet for Earth.

Phelan worked as a commercial shuttle pilot on Earth for a year, trying to forget the years lost fighting with the Eden Resistance. But when a bomb explosion by Sacred Earth terrorists at an Eden Hospital killed Michael’s wife, Phelan decided to go back to service as a reservist. He sought out his father, who had learned of his heroism at Eden and forgiven him, and the two patched up their differences. With Morgan’s help Phelan reactivated his officer commission as a reservist Major, and looked for a squadron for him to join. Morgan wanted Phelan to rejoin now General Brahe’s 417th Wing in Britannia, but Phelan wanted to avoid the planet, hoping to avoid contacting Magdalena, who had learned of his ordeal and was working to have Phelan transferred to her home planet.

Phelan finally decided to join the Macross-27 Colony Fleet and was assigned as a VF-19 Excalibur pilot for the newly activated Platinum Force, a UNSAF Composite Squadron formed as a morale boosting force for the colonists of the Macross-27 Fleet. Phelan quietly assumed the job as Commanding Officer of the squadron, which was assigned mostly to public relations and civilian defense and training in City-27. The veteran pilot now enjoy the relative peace of the Colony Fleet, where he serves with Michael, who is a special operations squadron commander with the Battle-27 carrier, but is beginning to miss his family as the Fleet ventures farther into deep and uncharted space.
